2018, the Real Estate Phenomenon

According to estimates of Dinheiro Vivo and the Association of Professionals and Companies of Real Estate Mediation of Portugal (APEMIP) it is estimated that 500 houses were sold in Portugal per day. According to the website Sapo, the “forecast by companies for the publication is that this pace continues to increase, as well as prices, since in the penultimate month of last year the valuation of homes reached 1215 euros per square meter, a maximum historic”.

The average price in the Lisbon metropolitan area is € 4,000 / m2 for new product (most launches take place in prestigious areas) and € 2000 / m2 for the product used. The price per square meter in the historical zone of Lisbon remains between € 3000 and € 9000 depending on the neighborhoods, which still remains a low price compared to other European capitals. But attention this metropolitan area is very disparate and the prices hide quite different realities. It is made up of Lisbon, Cascais and Oeiras, these areas are the most expensive per m2.
